just South of Tena we collected three Hesperocharis nera that would belong to two different subspecies ; this one, with a strong  black rim on the HWUP, also pictured at Pimpilala by Emily Hjalmarson, would be H. n. amazonica from the Amazon basin, while the other two, with a much weaker and dotted rim, would be H. n. nera...


and the same thing happens in the South of Sangay NP where we found the same two phenotypes flying near Méndez.
