it is risky to try to identify an uncommon Dalla from a live picture ; but these two butterflies have a remarkable feature, these russet streaks starting from the FWUP base, and particularly visible on the costa, streaks that are not present on any similar looking Dalla species that flies in Ecuador : mesoxantha, quasca, dora, scylla, dognini.
and they match all the features of Dalla gelus, and most notably the peculiar shape of the yellow marking in space 1b.
