these butterflies have been identified by Robert Busby, and there is no doubt they are Atlides browni.
but, to our knowledge, as of today this species is known to fly only in Western Colombia ; of the 19 records illustrated on BoldSystems, fifteen come from the Departamento de Valle and the last four from Bolivar.
obviously these are the first records East of the Andes, and the first records in Ecuador ; both come from 10 km North of el Chaco (see new facts page).
