this Mesosemia pictured by Jackie Riley at Pungara Lodge seems to be a female, and it looks quite like the female of Mesosemia hesperina, a species that flies from Costa Rica to Western Ecuador ; but, East of the Andes fly several look alike species (males with black stripes on a dark blue background) cyanira, thetys, lycorias, maeotis, the females of which are not illustrated on BoA and maybe have not been described ?
